Ambassador Gui Congyou Visits Dragon Gate Cultural Tourism Project in Sweden

On 19 to 20 December, Ambassador Gui Congyou visited upon invitation the Dragon Gate cultural tourism project in Älvkarleby Municipality of Sweden.

Olle Larsson, the major shareholder of the Dragon Gate project and the chairman of the Swedish company Sisyfosgruppen, introduced to Ambassador Gui the project’s history, construction process and current progress . According to Mr. Larsson, the project has five main functions, including accommodation, kung fu training, Chinese language education, business meeting and camping, and is intended to be an important platform for promoting friendly cooperation between Sweden and China.

Ambassador Gui visited the hotel, the Museum of Terracotta Warriors, the Kung Fu School, the Splendid Chinese Art Gallery and other facilities. He said that exchanges between China and Sweden has a long history, and people from all walks of life in both countries wish to expand such exchanges. The Dragon Gate project, displaying various elements of Chinese history and culture, is an important platform for enhancing mutual understanding and promoting friendly cooperation between China and Sweden. It is hoped that the project will consult extensively on its design and development plan. The Embassy is willing to assist in project promotion and work together with the project team to make it an attractive brand of cultural exchanges and economic cooperation for both Swedish and Chinese people.

Ambassador Gui also had a productive discussion with board members of the project and the head of the Uppsala-China City Forum on how to develop Chinese-Swedish relations.
