Ambassador Gui Congyou Exchanges Views With State Secretary at the Swedish Prime Minister's Office Hans Dahlgren on the Development of China-Sweden Relations

On June 14, Ambassador Gui Congyou met with Mr. Hans Dahlgren, State Secretary for foreign affairs at the Prime Minister’s Office. The two sides exchanged views on developing China-Sweden relations.

Mr. Dahlgren said Prime Minister Stefan Löfven visited China twice during his four-year term. In particular, he brought a large economic and trade delegation with him last May, which fully demonstrated the great importance the Swedish side attaches to expanding pragmatic cooperation with China. All sectors of the Swedish society fully understand the importance and great potential of cooperation with China. The Swedish side will continue to vigorously promote bilateral pragmatic cooperation in various fields and the sound development of bilateral relations.

Ambassador Gui said that China-Sweden relations are very important for both sides. All departments on both sides are actively implementing the important cooperation consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries and have achieved a series of new results. China is willing to further deepen friendly exchanges and cooperation in various areas, learn from each other and seek common development with the Swedish side on the basis of mutual respect and equality.

The two sides agreed that they will continue to deepen mutual understanding and mutual trust through candid and constructive dialogues and communication, to jointly safeguard the sound development momentum of bilateral relations.
